Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is launching its third new policy project this year for young job seekers by officially implementing a free interview suit rental service to reduce the clothing expenses burden for youth preparing for employment.
On the 6th, Nam-gu announced, "To minimize the economic burden such as clothing purchase costs for job seekers experiencing a cold job market due to economic recession and rising prices, we will operate the ‘Interview Suit Rental Service for Job-Seeking Youth.’"
First, Nam-gu has signed a contract with Danabe Bespoke, a custom suit company located in Wedding Street, Bullo-dong, Dong-gu, to pilot the service and provide rental services until the end of this year in preparation for the full-scale customized suit rental service for local job-seeking youth starting next year.
The service support targets job-seeking youth aged 19 to 45 residing in Nam-gu.
Male job seekers will be provided with jackets, shirts, pants, and neckties free of charge, while female job seekers can rent jackets, blouses, skirts, or pants.
The rental limit is a total of three times per year, with each rental lasting for 2 nights and 3 days.
Youth wishing to rent interview suits must bring proof of identity and an application form to visit the Job Policy Division on the 6th floor of Nam-gu Office or submit the related documents via email to the person in charge.
Additionally, on the reserved date, they can visit the rental company and receive expert assistance to rent suits that fit their body shape and purpose.
Nam-gu also plans to conduct a public bidding process next year to select a suit rental service provider to continue offering this service for the convenience of local job-seeking youth.
A Nam-gu official said, "We hope the customized suit free rental project will be a great help to young job seekers burdened by clothing expenses," adding, "We will continue to develop various policies to support youth in the district."
