Why did a domestic university provide a fam tour and invite foreign journalists?
The university took the initiative for a project aimed at attracting international students and linking them to employment opportunities.
Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) announced on the 6th that it participated in the Korea Tourism Organization’s ‘Media Fam Tour for Major Korean Universities to Promote Korean Study Abroad.’
President Lee Hae-woo, Dong-A University Vietnamese international students, representatives from Vietnamese media organizations, and officials from the Korea Tourism Organization Hanoi office are taking a commemorative photo. At Dong-A University, a familiarization tour inviting Vietnamese media organizations is being conducted to promote studying in Korea.
This program was planned and conducted by the Korea Tourism Organization’s Hanoi office in response to the recent surge in demand for studying in Korea among Vietnamese students over the past few years.
President Lee Hae-woo recently met with a group of journalists from five Vietnamese media outlets (Government News, Education Times, Promotion & Family, Vietcetera, Kenh14) who visited Dong-A University, sharing the current status of Vietnamese international students at Dong-A and explaining various support measures for international students.
The Vietnamese press group visiting Dong-A University filmed the campus scenery and lecture scenes during a campus tour and also conducted interviews with executives of the Vietnamese Student Association.
President Lee said, “Attracting students is important, but the university should also take an interest in and support the employment of international students,” adding, “We will actively utilize the power of Dong-A University’s 250,000 alumni to support the employment of Vietnamese international students.”
Currently, about 900 Vietnamese international students are enrolled in Korean language training and degree programs at Dong-A University.
