Asia Economy Education Team 'Jeongwonsadeul' Wins Excellence Award in Food and Drug Data Utilization Competition

AI-Based Recipe Recommendation Service
Excellent for Food Ingredient Expiry Date and Inventory Management

Asia Economy Education Center trainees received an Excellence Award at the '2023 Food and Drug Data Utilization Competition' hosted by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS).


The MFDS selected five outstanding works in this competition, which invited ideas and products/services such as apps and websites utilizing food and drug public data, and held an award ceremony on the 27th of last month.


The Grand Prize was awarded to 'Barcode Scan Technology-Based Interactive Mobile Health and Fitness Application, Geonganghaejwo' (winner The Health Life), which records daily food nutrition information in an app by scanning barcodes and QR codes printed on food packaging, and provides exercise logs and meal plans. The Excellence Awards went to 'AI-Based Food Preference Analysis Customized Menu Recommendation Service, MisikQ' (winner Pamkit), which utilizes food nutrition information, and 'Food Label Review Platform Service, LabelQ' (winner LabelQ), which uses MFDS regulatory information.

The Merit Awards were given to ▲'Real-Time Food Hazard Information Response and Blocking Service, Safe Management Quick Alert' (winner CJ Freshway Safe Management Department), which monitors hazard information such as food nonconformity inspection data provided by the MFDS in real time to block the distribution of hazardous products held by logistics centers and partners, and ▲'Ingredient Recognition-Based GPT Recipe Generation and Recommendation Service, Jorippyang' (winner Jeongwonsadeul), which generates AI-based recipes by recognizing ingredients when photographing food materials stored in the refrigerator with a mobile phone.


'Jeongwonsadeul' demonstrated this achievement by applying creative ideas and planning skills based on the technology learned in the big data training course operated by Asia Economy. Team leader Kim Seonyong Yang said in an interview, "The experience of directly collecting and analyzing public data, planning, and conducting various project practices through continuous idea meetings with team members during the K-Digital training course was the greatest help," expressing their gratitude for the award.


Asia Economy Education Center encourages and supports trainees to participate in external competitions to objectively verify their skills. In the fully government-funded 'K-Digital Training,' it specializes in the big data sector and nurtures trainees based on differentiated resources and educational content.
