Wemade, First Korean Game Company to Collaborate with DIFC Innovation Hub

Wemade announced on the 6th that it has become the first Korean game company to sign a partnership with the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) 'Innovation Hub' and join as a partner company.

DIFC is a special financial zone in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), equipped with its own administrative, judicial, and supervisory bodies. The Innovation Hub is an institution established by the Dubai government to attract global companies in the Web3, gaming, and artificial intelligence (AI) sectors, which are key focus areas for development.

Wemade will establish the 'Wemix Play Center' at the DIFC Innovation Hub and provide space for Wemix onboarding game companies. They also plan to create a global Web3 game fund worth $100 million in partnership with DIFC and make investments to support the successful market entry of Wemix onboarding companies. To promote this, they will co-host Web3-related events together with the DIFC Innovation Hub.

Dubai encourages various financial services, blockchain businesses, and the use of cryptocurrencies. Through the DIFC Innovation Hub, Wemade intends to closely communicate with the UAE virtual asset regulatory authorities and establish business strategies for the Middle East region in line with the latest trends.

Meanwhile, Wemade also revealed that it is in the process of applying to register Wemix as an authorized cryptocurrency with the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA). Authorized cryptocurrencies by the DFSA can be used for transactions among over 4,900 institutions and individual investors residing in the DIFC. So far, the authorized cryptocurrencies include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and the recently added Ripple (XRP) and TON, totaling five.
