Shinhan Asset Management's ‘SOL Monthly Dividend ETF’ series has surpassed 500 billion KRW in net assets. This achievement was made solely through newly listed products without adjusting the distribution cycle of existing products.
Following the SOL SoBuJang ETF series composed of domestic equity ETFs, the SOL Monthly Dividend ETF series, consisting of overseas equity ETFs, has also succeeded in attracting over 1 trillion KRW in funds to equity ETFs in 2023 alone.
Kim Jeong-hyun, Head of the ETF Business Division at Shinhan Asset Management, stated, “It is significant that the ETF market attracted investors' attention with equity ETFs amid a high-interest-rate environment this year, where bond-type and interest rate-linked products mainly grew. In particular, as a pioneer that first introduced monthly dividend ETFs in Korea, we plan to continuously strengthen the monthly dividend ETF product lineup and steadily increase its scale.”
The SOL ETF listed the first monthly dividend ETF in the domestic ETF market, 'SOL US S&P500,' and the first currency-hedged dividend ETF in Korea, 'SOL US Dividend Dow Jones (H),' which ranks first in net individual purchases among currency-hedged equity ETFs since the beginning of the year. It has grown into a 100 billion KRW scale ETF through steady capital inflows.
Especially, 'SOL US Dividend Dow Jones,' boasting the largest scale among domestic dividend ETFs, surpassed 350 billion KRW in net assets despite intensified competition due to the launch of products tracking the same underlying index, showing steady capital inflows.
Kim said, “The monthly dividend ETF market, operated by eight companies with 38 products, has grown to 3.4 trillion KRW, increasing by more than 2.5 trillion KRW compared to the end of last year. As ETFs diversify their underlying assets?domestic stocks, overseas stocks, domestic bonds, overseas bonds, REITs?and management strategies, the monthly dividend ETF market is expected to continue growing.”
Meanwhile, SOL ETF plans to strengthen its lineup by listing its first bond-type monthly dividend ETF at the end of this month.
