Yangcheon-gu, Diverse Unique Park Programs to Warm Up Winter Cold
Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) is operating the 'Winter Park Leisure Program' throughout December at Yangcheon, Pari, and Neomeundeul Parks, allowing families to enjoy various experiential activities and wrap up the year together.
First, at the Yangcheon Park Book Shelter, seven unique experiences will be held, including 'Making Succulent Trees,' 'Decorating Your Own 2024 Calendar' filled with personal touches, 'Creating Christmas Decorations,' and a 'Family Mini Sports Day.'
Additionally, every Thursday, visiting the Kijit play area for toddlers in Yangcheon Park offers participation in 'Sound Exploration Play,' which is beneficial for sensory development.
At the exotic cultural space Salon de Pari in Pari Park, four Christmas-specialized craft programs are prepared, ranging from Christmas wreaths made with fresh flowers to making Rudolph-shaped air fresheners and cards, as well as natural crayons.
Also, the Pari Park Book Shelter transforms into a theater to screen two family movies themed around France: 'Colorful Weddings' (December 13) and 'Santa and Company' (December 27).
At the Neomeundeul Park Book Shelter, which has the feel of a forest lodge caf?, there are programs for knitting scarves to keep warm in winter, soap crafting, and making family calendars.
Applications for program participation are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through the Seoul Public Service Reservation website, and for more details, inquiries can be made to the District Office’s Parks and Greenery Division.
Meanwhile, since November 2020, the district has been operating park leisure programs starting with Yangcheon Park, followed by Neomeundeul Park and Pari Park, providing over 2,000 people with opportunities to enjoy culture and leisure in nature.
Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “I hope everyone spends a warm year-end with their loved ones in city parks filled with the spirit of winter,” adding, “We will continue to create a ‘Yangcheon-style park’ where all residents can enjoy comfortable rest and diverse leisure activities.”
