Gyeongnam Goseong-gun Hosts Kimjang Sharing Festival Filled with Loving Neighborly Care The 17th Neighborly Love Kimchi Sharing Festival Held.

The Kimchi Sharing Festival, a tradition of sharing love at the threshold of winter, began in 2007 and marked its 17th year this year. Volunteers from various sectors, including students, companies, local volunteer groups, and town and township community security councils, participate in the festival to share love with neighbors.

On the first day of the festival, about 200 volunteers personally harvested and trimmed 10,000 heads of napa cabbage sponsored by contract farming and organizations, then salted them. On the second day, the 3rd, another 200 volunteers came to the event site to wash the salted cabbage and prepare the seasoning.

On the 4th, about 400 participants joined forces to complete the kimchi-making process.

Despite the cold weather, participants spread seasoning on the cabbage with warm hearts for neighbors in need and made about 2,000 containers of kimchi, carefully packaging them with sincerity.

In particular, a talent show was held to encourage participants of the Kimchi Sharing Festival, where despite physical fatigue, participants spent a rewarding time filled with laughter.

Additionally, during the three days of the kimchi festival, the Goseong-gun Saemaeul Women's Association provided warm lunch meals for the hardworking volunteers, offering continuous support for the kimchi event.

County Governor Sang-geun Lee expressed his encouragement, saying, "I thank the volunteers who willingly participated in this beautiful journey today," and added, "I hope all residents join together to reflect once again on the meaning of sharing and companionship and to create a warm community living with compassion."

Kim Seong-jin, chairman of the Community Security Council, said, "I was happy to feel the passion and effort of Goseong-gun volunteers on site through the Kimchi Sharing Festival," and added, "I hope that neighbors in the region can spend a somewhat warmer winter with the kimchi made together by the volunteers."
