Gyeongbuk Development Corporation donated 100 million KRW for heating expenses to vulnerable groups in Gyeongbuk Province on the 1st. This fund will be distributed to the residents of Gyeongbuk through the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea and the Love Briquette Sharing Movement Daegu-Gyeongbuk Headquarters.
Under the goal of ‘Winter Support for Vulnerable Groups,’ this project, which has been ongoing since 2013, has reached a cumulative amount of over 1.1 billion KRW. This year, 100 million KRW in heating expenses will be evenly provided to 600 households in Gyeongbuk Province. The donation was increased compared to the previous year to alleviate the burden on vulnerable groups suffering from rising prices.
Gyeongbuk Development Corporation provided 100 million won in heating cost support for vulnerable groups.
Separately from the heating expense donation, Gyeongbuk Development Corporation plans to carry out briquette delivery volunteer activities with the active participation of all employees to empathize with and provide even small help to vulnerable groups facing difficulties during the winter season.
Lee Jae-hyuk, president of Gyeongbuk Development Corporation, said, “Due to the high inflation economy, including energy price increases, it is a situation that makes people sigh, and I think this winter is especially harder and colder compared to before.” He added, “I hope this heating expense support becomes a small spark to overcome the severe cold wave, and we promise to continue various support for vulnerable groups in the future.”
