[Special Stock] Samyoung Electronics Aims for 80% Dominance in Hybrid Capacitors for AI Home Appliance Era... Samsung and LG as Clients

The stock price of Samyoung Electronics has continued its upward trend for the second consecutive day. It appears that the analysis showing net cash-type liquid assets of 290.3 billion KRW based on the consolidated financial statements at the end of the third quarter, which is about 1.7 times the market capitalization, is influencing the stock price. ResearchAlum analyzed that among Samyoung Electronics' assets of 553.9 billion KRW, liabilities are only 19.4 billion KRW, and retained earnings alone amount to 372.4 billion KRW, indicating a stable business structure.

As of 9:41 AM on the 4th, Samyoung Electronics is trading at 8,890 KRW, up 3.13% from the previous day.

ResearchAlum analyzed that Samyoung Electronics is expected to benefit from the advent of the on-device artificial intelligence (AI) era. Based on its stable business, Samyoung Electronics has embarked on large-scale investments to secure new growth engines.

Researcher Kim Doyoon of ResearchAlum explained, "On October 10th, the company announced the acquisition of an 8% stake in Japan's Chemicon for 21.9 billion KRW," adding, "Through technological cooperation, they plan to localize hybrid capacitors, which were previously entirely imported from Japan." He said, "Hybrid capacitors combine the advantages of existing electrolytic capacitors and polymer capacitors, offering high stability and enabling miniaturization and lightweight design," and added, "They are products with high demand in automotive electronics and are also installed in robots, drones, and IoT industrial devices."

Researcher Kim forecasted, "They plan to invest up to 50 billion KRW going forward, aiming for an 80% domestic market share," and "After completing facility investments, the expected annual sales are projected to exceed 60 billion KRW."

Researcher Kim also stated, "As major home appliance companies actively adopt AI technology, the on-device AI era is arriving," explaining, "Samsung Electronics will equip its new Galaxy series, to be unveiled in January next year, with a self-developed AI model." He continued, "Starting from mobile phones, this will expand to all home appliances such as refrigerators, robot vacuum cleaners, and air conditioners," and added, "LG Electronics will also expand AI technology applied to washing machines and dryers to all products."

Researcher Kim introduced, "On-device AI devices require high-performance computing capabilities," and explained, "This is why stable driving power, such as high-efficiency power supply systems, is essential." He emphasized, "A favorable business environment is expected for Samyoung Electronics," meaning "Demand for home appliance capacitors for voltage stabilization and efficient power management may increase."
