Goheung-gun Clean Food Complex Achieves Remarkable Results with 'Customized Specialized Support'

Support for Consumer-Centered Selection by Sector for 5 Companies

Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that the customized specialized support project for companies residing in the Gohung Clean Food Complex has been practically helpful in revitalizing resident companies.

The Gohung Clean Food Complex was completed in July 2011 along with a wastewater treatment plant in the area of 1118-3, Jangdeok-ri, Donggang-myeon. It is an industrial complex where 16 food production companies employ 236 people, generating an annual sales revenue of 44.1 billion KRW (exports of 21.5 billion KRW), and consuming about 9,000 tons of local agricultural and marine products annually.

The customized specialized support project is an initiative supported annually since 2021 to foster and strengthen the capabilities of resident companies in the industrial complex by allowing them to select necessary programs. For each program task, agreements are signed with specialized institutions such as Jeonnam Technopark to carry out the tasks, enhancing the competitiveness of resident companies through expert consulting and other services.

In 2023, the customized specialized support project signed an agreement with Jeonnam Technopark in March. After preliminary consulting and submission of business plans by each company, eligibility review and evaluation were conducted to select beneficiary companies and proceed with individual agreements. The project budget of 80 million KRW (40 million KRW from the province and 40 million KRW from the county) was equally supported by Jeonnam Province and Gohung-gun.

The five beneficiary companies of this year’s specialized support project are Jinsol Migreen Co., Ltd., TIG Food Co., Ltd., K-Farm Co., Ltd., Modeun SFS Co., Ltd., and Yein T&G Co., Ltd. Among them, Jinsol Migreen’s main products are pickled vegetables such as dried radish and garlic scape pickles. They carried out tasks including process improvement, marketing, participation support for exhibitions, and brand and product promotion.

TIG Food also implemented marketing programs for its main product, chicken feet, promoting the company’s technological capabilities and growth potential externally through a venture company certification task. Simultaneously, they participated in various programs targeting venture companies and developed a brand story to enhance product recognition.

Additionally, K-Farm’s main products are fish cakes. They undertook tasks such as prototype production and patent application, enhancing corporate competitiveness through intellectual property patent applications based on extensive experience and technology, and improving overall product design including fish cake soup packaging.

Modeun SFS produces cut vegetables, with a major task being the establishment of an automatic transfer line. By using a conveyor belt to facilitate product transfer, they increased the efficiency of mass production. Yein T&G mainly produces aloe beverages and carried out various tasks including sea freight logistics cost management, promotional video production for marketing, and transfer line improvements.

A county official stated, “Over the past three years, 16 resident companies in the food complex have benefited from the customized specialized support project. Through this project, resident companies have grown, leading to increased employment for local residents and stable supply and demand of local agricultural products, creating a virtuous cycle. Furthermore, we expect synergy effects such as making Gohung a better place for business and creating jobs for local residents.”
