Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced on the 1st that it has recently appointed Hwang Bong-ju, former head of the Gwangju Waterworks Headquarters, as the 2nd chairman of the Seo-gu Facilities Management Corporation. The term of office is three years starting from this day.
Chairman Hwang has served as a public official for over 40 years, holding key positions such as City Policy Planning Officer, Director of Autonomous Administration Bureau, Deputy Mayor of Nam-gu, and Head of the Waterworks Headquarters. Recently, he served as the Secretary General of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Innovation Platform.
The special personnel hearing committee for the chairman candidate of the Seo-gu Facilities Management Corporation highly evaluated Chairman Hwang’s extensive public service experience, expertise, organizational management, and ability to innovate management.
Chairman Hwang expressed his inauguration aspirations, stating, “To restore trust in the corporation, I will establish strategies to improve key management evaluation indicators and focus on strengthening capabilities through education and training for managers and employees. At the same time, I will improve the corporation’s major tasks directly related to residents’ convenience, such as household waste collection, to enhance residents’ perception of civil service.”
Kim Yi-gang, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, “I hope Chairman Hwang will fully demonstrate his administrative expertise and crisis management skills so that the Seo-gu Facilities Management Corporation can establish itself as a public enterprise that improves the quality of life and convenience for Seo-gu residents.”
