The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants announced on the 1st that it will hold a 'Seminar on Accounting Treatment of Complex Financial Instruments.'
The seminar, scheduled for the 7th, plans to discuss topics related to complex financial instruments, which is the theme of the newly selected practical case commentary series. The seminar is being held to assist accounting practitioners and information users in understanding by providing a forum for experts to discuss the accounting treatment of complex financial instruments along with the publication of the series.
Kim Young-sik, President of the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants, said, "Due to the various contractual conditions of complex financial instruments, stakeholders are experiencing difficulties in evaluating and accounting for these instruments. Through this seminar, we hope to alleviate practical difficulties by explaining to information users the financial systems and regulations related to complex financial instruments that have evolved over time, as well as the accounting treatment methods tailored to different issuance forms and situations."
Meanwhile, the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants continuously publishes the Korean-adopted International Financial Reporting Standards (K-IFRS) practical case commentary series to resolve uncertainties in accounting treatment arising from practical application.
