Dongtan City Hospital (Director Shin Jae-heung) held a donation ceremony last October to deliver 3,840 vitamin D supplements (worth 84 million KRW) to the Korea Senior Citizens Association Gyeonggi Hwaseong Branch (Chairman Park Hak-soon) to support the health of elderly residents in Hwaseong City.
At the delivery ceremony, key officials from the Korea Senior Citizens Association Gyeonggi Hwaseong Branch, including Chairman Park Hak-soon, Vice Chairman Kim Gyu-seok, and Secretary General Hong Jeong-nam, as well as hospital representatives such as Kim Mi-young, Administrative Director of Dongtan City Hospital, and Choi Yong-hyun, Head of the Medical Cooperation Team, attended to present the donations.
The donated 3,840 vitamin D supplements will be distributed to 11 senior colleges and elderly community centers within the area.
Chairman Park Hak-soon expressed, “It is a blessing to have a large hospital in our community, and we are grateful for the support of nutritional supplements for our senior members.”
Administrative Director Kim Mi-young said, “We wish for the health of many elderly people and will always maintain interest and effort for the health of the local community.” She added, “We will continue to fulfill our social responsibilities as a hospital working together with the community.”
Meanwhile, Dongtan City Hospital has been continuing its support project for knee joint replacement surgery costs for vulnerable elderly through an agreement with the Elderly Medical Sharing Foundation. Recently, the hospital has also been actively practicing warm sharing during the year-end and New Year seasons by sponsoring kimchi sharing for low-income families with Nuribodeum Welfare Association and supporting free flu vaccinations for North Korean defectors in cooperation with Hwaseong Dongtan Police Station.
