Jung-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Kim Gil-seong) welcomed December by brightly lighting the Christmas tree in the plaza in front of the district office. The sparkling lights of the large Christmas tree enhance the festive atmosphere of Christmas and the year-end holidays.
On the 30th at 5:30 PM, a lighting ceremony was held in the first-floor lobby of the district office, attended by Kim Gil-seong, Mayor of Jung-gu, Ji Sang-wook, Chairman of the People Power Party district committee, executives of the parish council, district office staff, and residents gathered together.
During the lighting ceremony, a Christmas worship service was held, praying that love and hope would be conveyed to the neighbors nearby. Following this, the Salvation Army Bryce Band performed a congratulatory concert, creating a warm atmosphere. Residents and staff who participated stopped to enjoy the performance and experienced the Christmas spirit three weeks early.
With a united voice counting down, the lights on the Christmas tree were turned on. The tree lit that day will brighten the plaza in front of the district office for about a month, conveying a warm year-end and New Year atmosphere to the citizens passing by.
Mayor Kim Gil-seong of Jung-gu said, “I hope the brightly shining Christmas tree warmly embraces the hearts of our citizens,” adding, “Like the lights illuminating the winter nights, Jung-gu will carefully watch over and brighten every corner nearby.”
