Earlier, on September 23 at 7:29 a.m., Ms. Oh, a woman in her 40s, was found in cardiac arrest after falling from the rooftop of an apartment in Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu. She was transported to the hospital but ultimately passed away. While confirming Ms. Oh’s movements and the whereabouts of her relatives, the police discovered three people?her husband Mr. Ham, his mother, and his younger sister?dead in a villa owned by Ms. Oh’s paternal family in Songpa-gu, and one elementary school-aged daughter of the couple dead in a hotel in Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Investigations revealed that Ms. Oh killed her daughter at the hotel in Gimpo and then took her own life. Additionally, the police determined that Mr. Ham strangled his mother to death in the villa in Songpa-gu and then committed suicide together with his younger sister.

The family was reportedly under pressure due to Ms. Oh’s excessive debts and successive lawsuits from creditors. A will, presumed to have been written by Mr. Ham and his younger sister, was found in the villa. The will mentioned financial difficulties caused by creditor-debtor issues and conflicts within the family.
