On the 30th, CJ CheilJedang announced that it has started selling K-Food products such as Bibigo and Hetbahn at EzyMart, a major convenience store chain in Australia.
The products introduced include 14 items such as Bibigo Tteokbokki, seaweed snacks, Hetbahn, and Hetbahn Cupbap, which will be sold at EzyMart stores across Australia starting this month, beginning with directly operated stores. CJ CheilJedang has expanded its sales channels from large supermarkets to convenience stores, enabling more local consumers to experience K-Food products.
EzyMart is a large convenience store chain operating over 450 stores in Australia. Especially, it has about 200 stores in Sydney, a major metropolitan city, so the company expects this to help increase local awareness and consumer experience of Bibigo K-Food.
CJ CheilJedang is expanding its business with Oceania, including Australia, as a key region for the "K-Food Global Territory Expansion." In May, Bibigo dumplings were introduced to over 1,000 stores of Woolworths, Australia's largest supermarket chain, marking the first entry into the local mainstream channel. Since then, the number of products sold has steadily increased, and currently six types of dumplings?vegetable, kimchi, shrimp, pork, chicken, and Korean barbecue?are sold at Woolworths.
Cha Yoojin, head of CJ CheilJedang’s Oceania division, said, “Bibigo K-Food is expanding its footprint by consecutively entering mainstream distribution channels in Australia,” adding, “We will continue to increase local consumer touchpoints through various channels.”
