Chosun University Draws Attention by Hosting Soccer Tournament for Vietnamese International Students

Vietnamese international students attending universities in Gwangju and Jeonnam recently gathered to hold a soccer tournament.

Chosun University announced on the 29th that the soccer tournament "KN CHOSUN CHAMPIONS CUP," hosted by the Vietnamese Student Association, was held on the 26th at the Chosun University Grand Stadium.

This soccer tournament was held following the Jeonnam-Gwangju-Chosun Cup Vietnamese Student Soccer Tournament held in May. Approximately 300 Vietnamese international students from seven universities, including Chosun University, Chosun National University of Science and Technology, Gwangju Women's University, Honam University, Nambu University, Songwon University, and Chodang University, participated to compete in their skills.

On this day, not only international students from Gwangju and Jeonnam but also the General Assembly of Vietnamese Students in Korea participated, creating an opportunity for student exchange.

The event proceeded with an opening ceremony, congratulatory speeches by Nguyen Viet Phang, President of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Vietnamese Residents Association, and Tran Van Hung, President of the General Vietnamese Student Association in Korea, followed by soccer matches and the presentation of merit plaques.

A total of 12 rounds were played during the event, with Honam University claiming the championship. Chodang University took second place, and Chosun University secured third place.

At Chosun University, the top scorer (Bui Trung Kien) and the best goalkeeper (Nguyen Quang Huy) were also selected.

Gong Jinseong, Director of External Cooperation at Chosun University, said, "Through this tournament, we hope to promote exchange and friendship among Vietnamese international students at Chosun University and other universities, and to enhance their adaptability to life and academic stability."
