Analysis of Overseas Travel Package Reservations
Charter Flight Packages Operated in Popular Destinations like Vietnam and Thailand
Hana Tour announced on the 29th that, based on the reservation status of overseas travel products (excluding airline tickets and hotels) for the Lunar New Year holiday next year, there is a noticeable preference for nearby travel destinations.
The company analyzed that the Lunar New Year holiday next year, from February 9 to 12, lasts only four days even including substitute holidays, which has relatively decreased demand for long-distance travel. Popular regions were led by Southeast Asia (55%), accounting for more than half, followed by Japan (27%), Europe (7%), and China (4%). Within Southeast Asia, Vietnam (49%) was highly preferred, and Japan showed a balanced distribution among Hokkaido, Northern Kyushu, and Osaka. Reservations for China surged by 1117% compared to the same period last year.
By departure date, travelers departing on the first day of the holiday, the 9th, accounted for the largest share at 32%, with those leaving the day before also making up 31%. Among those departing on the 8th, 62% chose Southeast Asia, while 41% of those departing on the 9th selected Japan.
To prepare for the increased reservation demand during the Lunar New Year holiday, Hana Tour has arranged a 'Hana Tour Exclusive Charter Flight to Danang for 6 Days' using Asiana Airlines departing from Incheon on February 7 and February 10. The company will also operate an exclusive Asiana Airlines charter flight product to Bangkok departing from Incheon during the same period.
On February 8, charter flight products to Danang using VietJet Air departing from Cheongju and Busan are available, along with a 'Charter Flight - 5 Days Hanoi from Cheongju' product using VietJet Air departing from Cheongju on the same day.
A Hana Tour representative stated, "As demand for short overseas trips to nearby regions increases during the short holiday period, we are preparing for reservation demand by operating charter flights to popular destinations during the holiday."
