One Chinese Cargo Ship Presumed Sunk Near Sinan Gageodo Sea

Mokpo Coast Guard Emergency Dispatch, All Available Forces Including Patrol Vessels Mobilized

The Coast Guard received a report that a vessel was sinking near Gageodo Island in Sinan County, Jeollanam-do, and immediately dispatched an emergency response team.

Mokpo Coast Guard Station (Chief Kim Hae-cheol) received a report at around 7:28 a.m. on the 29th that a vessel, presumed to be a Chinese cargo ship, was sinking near Gageodo Island in Sinan County, Jeollanam-do.

The Mokpo Coast Guard dispatched patrol ships and coastal rescue boats to the scene, while also requesting assistance from nearby vessels and convening a situation response team to ensure thorough rescue operations and assessment of the accident situation.
