On the 28th, Daesang Holdings closed at 11,290 won, up 2,270 won (25.17%) from the previous trading day. Following a limit-up the day before, the stock rose more than 20% again on this day. During trading, the price surged to the limit-up price, reaching 11,720 won. The preferred stock, Daesang Holdings Preferred, also hit the limit-up for the second consecutive day. It is rare for a holding company's stock to reach the limit-up.
The sharp rise in these stocks is interpreted as a result of a photo taken after Minister Han and Lee Jung-jae had dinner at a restaurant in Seocho-gu, Seoul, being posted on online communities.
With Minister Han emerging as a hopeful candidate for next year's general election and the fact that Lee Jung-jae, the official partner of Vice Chairman Lim, is a classmate of Minister Han from Seoul Hyundai High School being revealed, Daesang Holdings has also become a 'Han Dong-hoon theme stock.'
Daesang Holdings was initially considered a 'Han Dong-hoon theme stock' based on the fact that outside director Yang Dong-woon is an alumnus of Seoul National University Law School with Minister Han, and outside director Lim Sang-gyu is a colleague of Minister Han's spouse, lawyer Jin Eun-jung (Kim & Chang law firm). However, compared to other theme stocks, it had relatively less market attention.

In particular, it is estimated that Vice Chairman Lim's share value increased significantly amid Daesang Holdings' stock price surge.
Vice Chairman Lim is the second-largest shareholder, holding 7,389,242 shares of Daesang Holdings (20.41% stake).
Based on the closing price on the 24th (6,940 won), Vice Chairman Lim's Daesang Holdings stock was valued at 51.28133 billion won, but based on the closing price on the 27th (9,020 won), when the stock hit the limit-up, the share value surged to 66.65096 billion won. This means she earned a whopping 15.4 billion won in just one trading day.
On this day as well, the stock rose more than 20%, further increasing the valuation of her holdings. Based on the closing price on this day (11,290 won), Vice Chairman Lim's share value was estimated at 83.4 billion won. In just two trading days, she gained over 32 billion won in valuation gains.
Meanwhile, the largest shareholders of Daesang Holdings include Honorary Chairman Lim Chang-wook, his wife Park Hyun-joo, Vice Chairman of Daesang Holdings, their eldest daughter Vice Chairman Lim, and their second daughter Lim Sang-min, an executive in charge of Daesang's strategy. Since the weekend until this day, Daesang Holdings' stock price has risen approximately 62.7% based on the closing price, and during this period, the total value of Daesang Holdings shares held by the Lim family, including Vice Chairman Lim, is estimated to have increased by 102.6 billion won.
