Proud Eunpyeong Resident Kim Seon Who Took Off Coat for Elderly Dementia Patient

Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) recently held a meeting on the 23rd with an Eunpyeong-gu resident who showed kindness by caring for an elderly person with dementia during the recent cold wave advisory.

Mr. Kim Seon, a resident of Eunpyeong-gu, assisted an elderly man in his 80s who was wandering the streets in pajamas on the morning of the 7th. He took off his own coat and gave it to the elderly man. He also stayed by the man's side, giving him warm drinks and hot packs until the police arrived, ensuring the man's body temperature did not drop.

At the meeting, District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung met with Mr. Kim to hear the story firsthand and presented him with a plaque of appreciation for not overlooking a neighbor in need and caring for him as if he were her own parent.

Upon hearing this news, volunteers from Eunpyeong-gu expressed their gratitude by giving Mr. Kim handmade scarves and cold packs for the eyes, sharing warm feelings of appreciation.

Mr. Kim Seon stated, "Helping an elderly person wandering in the cold weather is only natural, and anyone would have done the same," adding, "I am relieved that the elderly man was able to return home safely."

Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, said, "I deeply appreciate the kindness that has made Eunpyeong-gu a warm community," and added, "We will continue to build a beautiful Eunpyeong-gu together through communication with residents."
