On the 28th, the day of the announcement of the 2030 World Expo host city, a large-scale citizen cheer event wishing for a successful bid will be held at 8:30 PM at the Busan Citizens’ Hall Grand Theater with Busan citizens.
This cheer event is the last large-scale event to wish for the successful bid before the announcement of the 2030 World Expo host city. It is hosted by Busan City and jointly organized by the Pan-Citizen Bid Committee Citizen Committee, Pan-Citizen Supporters, Pan-Women’s Promotion Council, and Citizen Participation Coalition. This event was prepared to watch together with Busan citizens the final 2030 World Expo bid competition presentation (PT) and voting results held at the 173rd General Assembly of the International Bureau of Expositions on the 28th, and to deliver the earnest wishes of Busan citizens to Paris through enthusiastic cheering.
On November 28, the day the final host city of the 2030 World Expo is announced, banners with the key visuals “Dreams Come True” and “Today, It’s Busan” are displayed inside and outside the Citizens’ Hall to express the citizens’ heartfelt hopes, wishing that this day will be the day Korea leaps forward as a global hub nation.
First, before the performance starts, 1,000 LED fans and 1,500 hand flags engraved with the phrase “Today, It’s Busan” will be distributed to citizens on a first-come, first-served basis.
Cheering tools will be distributed to citizens on a first-come, first-served basis, and a photo zone will be set up in the first-floor lobby for photo time.
Also, the message wall containing citizens’ wishes from the ‘Departure Ceremony for Successful Bid (D-7)’ held on the 21st will be unveiled on this day.
The event will begin at 8:30 PM at the Busan Citizens’ Hall (Grand Theater) with about 1,000 citizens gathered, and will proceed in the order of ▲opening performance ▲greetings ▲special citizen cheer performance ▲viewing of the 173rd International Bureau of Expositions General Assembly bid competition PT presentation ▲bid wish performance ▲connection to Paris site ▲live broadcast of Paris site voting results.
First, Busan Mayor Park Hyung-jun will deliver a message of gratitude and respect through a video message for the many activities carried out together with citizens over the past two years.
Then, together with the citizens attending the event, they will shout cheering slogans such as “Bring it to Busan,” “It’s done, it’s done,” and “November 28 is Busan,” creating a passionate atmosphere that will be conveyed all the way to Paris.
Various citizen cheer performances are prepared, including the Busan City Choir with heavenly voices, the Expo cheer team Dream Eye cheering squad composed of future generations, and the media performance team.
In particular, the Paris live broadcast team and Busan Citizens’ Hall will be connected to deliver a vivid atmosphere of the scene through interviews with civic groups that organized street cheering events around the 173rd International Bureau of Expositions General Assembly venue and in Paris. A surprise video message from Pan-Citizen Bid Committee Chairwoman Park Eun-ha is expected to be revealed on this day.
The final 2030 World Expo bid competition presentation (PT) at the 173rd International Bureau of Expositions General Assembly is scheduled to take place around 10 PM local time.
