Awarded the Seoul Metropolitan Council Chairman's Prize in the Public Sector for the Printing Newsletter
Newsletter Featuring Key District Policies and Living Information, Fostering Empathy and Communication with Residents
Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Ilpyeong Lee) received the 'Chairman Award of the Seoul Metropolitan Council' in the public sector of printed newsletters at the '2023 Korea Communication Awards' held on the 24th at the Korea Press Center for its monthly district newsletter, 'Dongdaemun-gu News.'
Organized by the Korea Newsletter Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and others, the 'Korea Communication Awards' annually recognize outstanding public institutions and organizations that excel in communication through printed newsletters, advertisements, and other media produced by government agencies, local governments, and corporations.
The honored 'Dongdaemun-gu News,' first published in 1976 and now at issue number 567, has vividly conveyed district issues for nearly 50 years, helping to enhance residents' understanding of the district's vision and initiatives.
'Dongdaemun-gu News' also serves as a communication channel with residents. The district aims to publish a newsletter created together with residents by expanding content that allows resident participation and organizing various monthly feature pages to easily deliver key district policies and various lifestyle information.
Ilpyeong Lee, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, "We will continue to strive to publish 'Dongdaemun-gu News,' which delivers useful district news and sincerely reflects residents' stories, fostering deeper and warmer communication with our residents."
