Gyeongnam Information University (President Kim Dae-sik) held the award ceremony for the "14th Shoes Creative Idea Contest."
The "14th Shoes Creative Idea Contest," held from August 28 to September 27, saw participation from high school students nationwide, with a total of 76 entries competing.
Hosted by Busan City and Gyeongnam Information University, the competition was sponsored by Treksta, Prospecs, and Uncori. It featured ideas incorporating functions such as sports shoes, specialty shoes, fashion shoes, well-being shoes, and medical footwear, submitted in the form of computer graphics or sketches.
This year's grand prize was awarded to Kang Da-yeon, a student at Korea Arts High School, for her work titled "healer shoes." The winner received a certificate and a prize of 1 million KRW.
Additionally, ▲Gold Prize winners included Jeong Ui-seok from Gyeongnam Technical High School for "fusion plate" and Song Ji-woo from Korea Arts High School for "Mountain Rescue ALPINIST," ▲Prospecs Prize went to Lee Se-hee from Busan Arts High School for "shoes seol," ▲Silver Prize was awarded to Shim Eon-seul from Busan Industrial School for "Gaming Shoes," along with four others, totaling 29 awardees.
Moon Jin-bok, head of the Footwear Fashion Department, which organized the event, said, "We are grateful that high school students nationwide participated with fresh and creative ideas in the contest," adding, "As the only specialized footwear department in Korea, Gyeongnam Information University's Footwear Fashion Department will support students to achieve even greater dreams together."
