Choo Kyung-ho Discusses Cooperation Plans Between Korean Financial Institutions and Companies with AIIB President Jin Liqun

The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choo Kyung-ho met with Jin Liqun, President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), who is visiting Korea on the 27th, to discuss ways to expand cooperation between Korea and the AIIB.


At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Choo said, "Since its launch in 2016, the AIIB has achieved remarkable growth in a short period and has established itself as a prominent global multilateral development bank, which is impressive."


He also requested the President's attention and cooperation to enable more Korean companies to participate in AIIB investment projects and to expand cooperation between Korean financial institutions such as the Korea Development Bank and the Export-Import Bank of Korea and the AIIB.


Deputy Prime Minister Choo also urged the expansion of hiring Koreans at various levels and fields within the AIIB, from senior executives to working-level staff.


In response, President Jin said, "We look forward to further strengthening cooperation with Korea, which has development experience and technological capabilities, in various fields such as finance, infrastructure projects, and human exchange."
