Choi Deung-gyu, Chairman of Daebo Group, Appointed as First Chairman
Nine Experts Including Choi Jeong-hoon, CEO of Ido, Join as Directors
Golf platform company Ido leads the launch of the 'Didimdol Foundation.'
On the 27th, the Didimdol Foundation announced, "Choi Deung-gyu, chairman of Daebo Group, has been appointed as the inaugural chairman. Directors include Choi Jeong-hoon, CEO of Ido; Choi In-yong, CEO of Acushnet Korea; Lee Seung-ho, Asia-Pacific representative of the PGA Tour; Byun Jin-hyung, Asia-Pacific representative of the LPGA Tour; Oh Jae-wook, CEO of Gentle Monster; Song Chi-hyung, chairman of Dunamu; Jeon Yoo-hoon, vice chairman of Hangang Asset, among others. Lee Sang-ho, CEO of Glenwood Private Equity, serves as auditor, and Yeo Ji-ye, auditor of the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) and general manager of Club D Cheongdam, is the secretary-general."
The Didimdol Foundation is a public interest foundation established to nurture world-class competitive golf players and expand the base of golf. Since its launch in June, it received certification as a public interest corporation designated by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance on the 4th of last month. Ido, which fully funded the foundation's establishment fund, operates four golf courses nationwide (Club D Boeun, Songnisan, Geumgang, Geochang) and Club D Cheongdam, conducting various golf-related projects. It runs a junior player development and golf base expansion project called 'Club D Dream Tree,' providing free support to 270 junior golf players.
CEO Choi is the son of Chairman Choi of Daebo Group, which owns the Seowon Valley Golf Club in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. Daebo Group also actively engages in social contribution activities through the Seowon Valley Charity Green Concert, which has attracted a cumulative 530,000 visitors. Starting next year, the Didimdol Foundation plans to launch full-scale activities such as hosting Asian tournaments to help junior players gain international experience, offering overseas golf training programs, and providing mentoring programs with global players. Chairman Choi stated, "We will strive to systematize sharing through golf."
