On the 26th, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it was the only district in Gwangju to receive the 'Deputy Prime Minister Award' at the '2023 Statistical Work Promotion Merit Awards' hosted by the Statistics Korea.
The Statistical Work Promotion Merit Awards were established to recognize and promote institutions that have successfully conducted large-scale nationwide statistical surveys through active public-private cooperation. This year, a total of 25 local governments were selected as meritorious institutions and were awarded different honors such as the Deputy Prime Minister Award and the Statistics Korea Commissioner Award based on their efforts in developing national statistics.
In this statistical work award, Buk-gu was praised for its thorough preparation to faithfully conduct the business and mining/manufacturing surveys by ▲establishing a systematic detailed survey plan ▲hiring sufficient survey personnel ▲carrying out various promotional activities to encourage active participation from private companies, and for enhancing the reliability of statistical figures through accurate data entry and internal verification tasks.
As a result, Buk-gu was selected as the only institution in Gwangju for the Statistical Work Promotion Merit Award and received the Deputy Prime Minister Institutional Commendation.
A Buk-gu official stated, "This selection as a meritorious statistical institution was thanks to the efforts of survey personnel who actively engaged in statistical work on site and the cooperation of company representatives," adding, "Since nationwide national statistical surveys serve as very important basic data for designing the country's future, we will continue to do our best to improve the accuracy of statistical work and conveniently provide information needed by residents."
