Ulleung-gun Operates Private Tourist Information Center 'Eoseooseom' ... Improving Convenience of Tourism Information

Ulleung-gun, Gyeongbuk has started operating a private tourist information center (tentatively named: Eoseooseom) where visitors can conveniently obtain tourism information regardless of time and place.

To overcome the limitations of operating hours and accessibility concentrated only in the eup area, tourist guide brochures and maps will be provided at cafes, restaurants, and accommodations throughout Ulleung-gun, improving travel convenience.

There are 14 designated private tourist information centers: 5 in Ulleung-eup, 2 in Seomyeon, and 7 in Bukmyeon. These are tourism-related businesses such as cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops frequently visited and stayed at by tourists within the region.

Applications for private tourist information centers can be made at any time. Designated centers will receive promotional materials and stands from Ulleung-gun, and various benefits such as business promotion through Ulleung-gun’s tourism website and tourism SNS will be provided.

Nam Han-kwon, the county governor, said, “As the public and private sectors cooperate to facilitate the provision of tourism information, we hope many tourists will use this service,” and added, “We also thank the businesses that applied for the private tourist information centers and ask them to work together to make Ulleung-gun a place visitors want to return to.”
