The capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, suffered the largest drone attack since the start of Russia's airstrikes, causing numerous damages, Ukrainian authorities announced on the 25th (local time).

Kyiv had faced consecutive attacks at the end of September, after which Russia's airstrikes ceased for 52 days. However, following a missile attack on the 11th, the city was hit again by a drone attack two weeks later on this day.

According to local media, the Ukrainian Air Force stated that Russia launched a large-scale drone attack last night.

Authorities reported that at least two people were injured in Kyiv due to the Russian drone attack early Saturday morning.

Vitalii Klychko, mayor of Kyiv, announced via Telegram that "currently, there are two victims in the Solomianskyi district," and that they received medical assistance on site.

Mayor Klychko said that an apartment building in the Solomianskyi district was damaged by drone debris falling after an explosion in the air, and that emergency responders are trying to rescue two women trapped in the building rubble.

He added that several fires were reported, including one at a kindergarten.

Klychko also stated that drone fragments fell on apartments in at least three districts within Kyiv.

Authorities identified the drones launched from Russia as Iranian-made Shahed drones, but have not yet disclosed how many attack drones flew in last night.
