Golfzon Apologizes for Service Disruption... "Beware of Impersonation Phishing Messages"

Apology to Customers and Store Owners..."No Personal Information Leak"
Warning to Beware of Phishing Messages Saying “We Will Give You a Gift of Apology”

Golfzon, the largest screen golf company in Korea, apologized for the service disruption that occurred on the 23rd. They also warned about phishing messages exploiting the situation.

On the 25th, Golfzon stated in an official statement, “Currently, Golfzon is experiencing difficulties in the normal operation of its web, app, and store management sites due to server disk damage caused by ransomware.” However, they added that there has been no leakage of members’ personal information as a result.

Since the 23rd, Golfzon’s official website and mobile app have been experiencing service disruptions. Reservations and reservation confirmations via online or mobile are all unavailable, causing inconvenience to both business owners and users. Additionally, the online golf equipment market, ‘Golfzon Market,’ is also inaccessible.

They continued, “Currently, phishing messages impersonating Golfzon are being sent to an unspecified number of people exploiting this situation,” and “Golfzon does not send such messages, and customers who receive these messages are urged to mark the sender as spam to prevent any damage.”

Golfzon also revealed examples of impersonation messages that mislead customers by saying things like, “As a token of apology, we will give you a gift, so customers who wish to receive the gift should reply with ‘수령’ (receipt).”

Golfzon stated, “We will do our best to sequentially restore all services to normal,” and “We sincerely apologize to our customers and store owners who are experiencing difficulties in operation.”

According to the ESG report announced earlier this year, as of the end of last year, Golfzon holds data on 4.36 million golfers, with about 240,000 rounds played daily and approximately 87 million rounds played annually. As of the end of last year, about 5,000 stores, including 2,180 franchise locations nationwide, are in operation.
