‘2024 Gimhae Visit Year’ Proclamation, One Day Away

Gimhae City in Gyeongnam, preparing to host next year's National Sports Festival, the Disabled Sports Festival, and the East Asia Cultural City events, has declared 2024 as the Year of Visit Gimhae.

The city announced on the 24th that it will hold the 2024 Year of Visit Gimhae proclamation ceremony at 3 p.m. on the 25th at the Taegukjeon in Gimhae Gaya Theme Park.

According to the city, about 700 people will attend the proclamation ceremony, including Governor Park Wan-su, local members of the National Assembly, Na Dong-yeon, Mayor of Yangsan and chairman of the Nakdong River Council, Jo Byung-gil, Mayor of Saha District in Busan, Kim Hyung-chan, Mayor of Gangseo District, and citizens.

The event will begin with a performance by the Gimhae City Gayageum Ensemble, followed by ▲ screening of the Year of Visit Gimhae video ▲ broadcasting of congratulatory videos ▲ presentation of the 2024 Year of Visit Gimhae vision △ proclamation ceremony and citizen participation events ▲ congratulatory performances by popera singer Elvolente and singer Jung In.

A tourism promotion booth and a photo zone decorated with Toddeogi, a representative symbol of Gimhae, will be set up at the venue, and commemorative events will be held for theme park visitors and proclamation ceremony participants.

To commemorate the event, the city will open Gimhae Gaya Theme Park free of charge from 1 p.m. on the day of the proclamation ceremony.

Mayor Hong Tae-yong said, “With major events such as the 2024 National Sports Festival and the East Asia Cultural City events, the Year of Visit Gimhae is a golden opportunity to enhance our city's brand value and image as a tourist city,” adding, “We will focus all our capabilities on a successful hosting.”
