DA Technology Purchases Robots for Trial Operation and Battery Development with Chinese Company Yogorobot

DA Technology announced on the 24th that it has purchased intelligent autonomous delivery robots from the Chinese robotics company YOGO Robot.

The robots purchased this time include two types of intelligent autonomous delivery robots: food delivery robots and parcel and goods delivery robots. They will be brought to Korea for pilot operation and testing. These robots are equipped with IoT (Internet of Things) modules, which allow delivery using short-range communication even in areas with weak internet networks, providing a significant advantage.

DA Technology plans to establish sales and marketing strategies for domestic and international sales through pilot operation and domestic testing of YOGO Robot’s intelligent service robots. Furthermore, the company will actively pursue the development of batteries for robots. Since it has already secured laser patterning technology in the ultra-small secondary battery sector, which is the energy source for robots, it is expected to achieve visible results related to robot battery development in the near future.

With the recent enforcement of the amended Intelligent Robot Act expanding the activity areas of service robots to outdoor spaces, the robotics industry is expected to experience high growth. Currently, many domestic companies are entering the service robot industry. According to data from the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology, the global robotics market size is projected to grow at an average annual rate of 17.4%, from $33.2 billion (approximately 44.1 trillion KRW) in 2021 to $74.1 billion (approximately 98.5 trillion KRW) in 2026.

A company official stated, “Based on our core laser patterning technology, DA Technology was recognized for its technological capabilities last year by exporting 12 billion KRW worth of wearable devices to a U.S. Nasdaq-listed company, the first domestic achievement of its kind.” He added, “As the robotics industry grows, demand for robot batteries is also expected to increase, so we plan to expand our portfolio to include robot batteries as a future growth engine.”
