'Tuna or Chicken?' HMM Acquisition, Dongwon-Harim Two-Way Battle

Dongwon Group and Harim Group reportedly participated in the final bidding for the acquisition of container shipping company HMM.

According to industry sources on the 23rd, Dongwon Group and Harim Group were the final bidders in the final bidding conducted that day for the sale of HMM by the HMM creditors, including KDB Industrial Bank, Korea Ocean Business Corporation, and the sales agent Samsung Securities.

In the preliminary bidding, three companies?Harim, Dongwon Group, and LX International?were shortlisted as qualified acquisition candidates.
