Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon stated that he would "use the language of 50 million people, not the Yeouido dialect," which political circles interpret as a tacit indication of his intention to run in the general election. In response, former Blue House Chief of Staff Lim Jong-seok warned, saying, "He not only speaks well but also has big dreams." Both Lim and Minister Han are rumored to be running in Jongno in next year's general election.
On the 23rd, Lim posted on his social media, "No matter what anyone says, Minister Han is the crown prince of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration," expressing his view.
On the 21st, Minister Han attended the opening ceremony of the Daejeon Korean Language Proficiency Evaluation Center (CBT), a social integration program evaluation system under the Ministry of Justice. When asked about the opinion that he uses a grammar different from the Yeouido grammar, he said, "I will use the grammar spoken by 50 million people, not the Yeouido dialect." This has been analyzed as a sign that he is considering running in the general election.
Former Chief of Staff Lim also said, "He boldly declared that he would use the 'language of 50 million people.' It seems that being a member of the National Assembly is not his goal," adding, "Is politics looking easier and giving him confidence after 18 months as Minister of Justice?"
He continued, "All personnel appointments must go through his hands, and it is also his role to go to the National Assembly and fight with the opposition party. Now, even the task of boosting the general election campaign by touring the provinces has become his responsibility. As Yoon Seok-yeol's No.1 kid, Minister Han has every reason to be confident," he said.
However, Lim raised his voice, saying, "But Minister Han has overlooked one fact: the people." He emphasized, "The people who have pushed this country's history this far, the people who have reached the threshold of a developed country only to face frustration, the people struggling day by day experiencing a 1% economic growth rate, and the people who are fed up with Jeong Cheong-rae-style language and Han Dong-hoon-style responses."
He added, "There will be no extension of the prosecutor-led government for another five years in South Korea. If that happens, we will endure a time far more painful than Japan's 'Lost Decade.' In next year's general election, we will stop the reckless actions of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration. Minister Han will learn next year how formidable the people he overlooked truly are," he concluded.
