Gyeonggi-do Single-Person Household Policy Advisory Committee Launches on 23rd... Policy Review and Consultation Gyeonggi Provincial Government

The Gyeonggi-do Single-Person Household Policy Advisory Committee was launched on the 23rd.

On this day, Gyeonggi-do held the 1st meeting of the ‘Gyeonggi-do Single-Person Household Policy Advisory Committee’ at the provincial office to activate support policies for single-person households and announced the start of its full-scale activities.

The Single-Person Household Policy Advisory Committee consists of a total of nine members: seven private experts in fields such as safety, health, family and welfare, and fieldwork; ex officio public officials (Director of the Women and Family Bureau of the province); and Jang Min-su, a member of the Gyeonggi-do Provincial Council’s Women, Family, and Lifelong Education Committee.

Earlier in August, Gyeonggi-do revised the ‘Gyeonggi-do Single-Person Household Basic Ordinance’ to establish the basis for forming the Single-Person Household Policy Advisory Committee composed of experts in various fields.

At the first meeting, practical discussions were held on the policy direction for single-person households in Gyeonggi-do and improvement measures for ongoing single-person household projects such as the hospital safe accompaniment service.

The committee will hold meetings twice a year to review and advise on matters related to the basic support plan and implementation plan for single-person households, monitor support projects, and propose new projects necessary for Gyeonggi-do’s single-person household support policies.

Yoon Young-mi, Director of the Women and Family Bureau of Gyeonggi-do, stated, "Based on the discussions held this time, we will strive to discover and improve policies needed in various fields for single-person households," adding, "We will actively work with the committee members to ensure that the Single-Person Household Policy Advisory Committee can be of practical help in the development of single-person household policies."
