Shilla University awarded an honorary Doctorate in Business Administration to Jeon Hee-chung, CEO of Daewoong ET.
The degree conferment ceremony took place on the 22nd at 3 p.m. in the Future Aviation Convergence Hall of Shilla University, attended by Shilla University President Heo Nam-sik, Busan Saha-gu District Mayor Lee Gap-jun, Shilla University Alumni Association President Choi Soon-hee, Chairman of the 6th Executive MBA Class Kim Young-joo (Chairman of Yuchang Construction), and Chairman Yang Jae-saeng of Eunsan Shipping and Aviation, among others.
Shilla University awards honorary doctorates to individuals who have made special contributions to the promotion of academics and culture or have contributed to the development of human society, local communities, or the nation, in accordance with the Higher Education Act.
CEO Jeon Hee-chung, who received the honorary Doctorate in Business Administration, founded Daewoong ET, a company specializing in eco-friendly ship products and hydrogen tanks, in 2019. He holds numerous patents through continuous technological development and innovation, particularly contributing to overcoming the climate crisis by developing pollution reduction devices for ships.
Recently, he has expanded his business into the hydrogen industry, a future growth sector, continuously pioneering new markets and promoting innovative research to advance related industrial fields.
CEO Jeon has long been engaged in various volunteer activities such as volunteering at social welfare facilities and supporting multicultural families, and has worked to spread a culture of donation. In July, he took on the role of President of the Sejong Lions Club, participating in solving local community issues.
