KR M announced on the 23rd that it won the Best Award in the robot category at the Ministry of National Defense Minister's DroneBot Challenge.
The DroneBot Challenge is the only domestic competition that evaluates virtual combat mission performance using drones and robots. It is held to assess the technological level of the related civilian sector and to focus the research and development of industry, academia, and research institutes on military demands.
A total of 91 teams participated in the 2023 DroneBot Challenge in the robot and drone fields, competing fiercely. KR M demonstrated outstanding target detection and indoor building reconnaissance technology at the competition, achieving the Best Award in the robot category.
KR M is a company responsible for the domestic production, sales, and AI software development of the quadruped robot ‘Vision 60’ developed by Ghost Robotics, based in Philadelphia, USA.
The quadruped robot Vision 60 produced by KR M is made of aluminum alloy, measuring 95cm in length, 68.5cm in height, and weighing 51kg, making it suitable for outdoor use. It is known as the quadruped robot most suitable for military use, boasting advantages such as longer battery life, modularized parts, high IP rating, and excellent mobility compared to competitor robots.
A KR M representative said, “We are proud to have been recognized for our excellent technology and to have won the Best Award at the DroneBot Challenge,” adding, “We believe this outstanding achievement is thanks to our research team’s great efforts in robot hardware and AI software fields.”
