The McDonald's Working Holiday is a special program unique to Korea McDonald's that allows employees to work at stores in new regions away from their usual workplaces, gaining unique experiences while enjoying both work and rest. The first program was successfully completed in the Jeju area this August, and the second program is scheduled to take place at stores in the Gangneung area starting January next year.

The Working Holiday program is open to any 'crew (part-time employees)' aged 19 or older who joined before July 15 this year and have worked continuously for at least six months, including seniors, housewives, and foreign crew members. McDonald's plans to support participants with round-trip transportation costs, accommodation near the workplace, and various commemorative gifts.

The final selected participants will work for about four weeks from January 15 to February 12 next year at stores in the Gangneung area of Gangwon Province. The wages during the Working Holiday period will be applied according to the existing standards based on working hours. This Working Holiday also plans to include participation in various Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) activities such as beach cleanup efforts, adding more significance beyond the existing 'Workcation.' Additionally, the '2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games' will be held throughout Gangwon Province during the same period, attracting many domestic and international tourists to the area, providing an even more unique experience.

A representative from Korea McDonald's said, "The Working Holiday is a special program unique to McDonald's that offers store employees differentiated experiences and opportunities to grow as field experts," adding, "Based on the positive responses from participants in the Jeju area program, we have worked hard to make this Gangneung area Working Holiday a more fulfilling and meaningful time."
