The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education has prepared and is implementing a comprehensive plan to reduce the burden of official document processing in frontline schools.
On the 23rd, the Office of Education announced that following the establishment of the 'School Work Improvement Officer' in March to allow schools to focus on educational activities through school work system improvements, it has decided to reduce official documents sent from external organizations to schools and improve the external document distribution system.
First, the Office of Education will centralize the reception of external official documents sent from teacher (staff) organizations to schools to the responsible departments within the Office of Education (Cooperation Support Division, Labor-Management Cooperation Division). The responsible departments will post the documents or designate and transfer them to the relevant departments (schools) depending on the matter.
Additionally, for promotional external official documents, new posting criteria will be established for simple promotions, announcements, and event promotions. By increasing personnel at the Gyeonggi Education Information Records Center, the posting of external official documents will be expanded to alleviate school administrative work.
The Office of Education will also reduce internal official documents sent from education support offices and affiliated institutions to schools.
To this end, the Office of Education will implement various policies including ▲expansion of official document posting system ▲strengthening of official document production compliance ▲introduction of official document (key terms and school implementation) labeling system ▲reflection in department heads and institution evaluations.
Lee Un-jae, the School Work Improvement Officer at the Office of Education, stated, "This comprehensive plan was prepared through discussions among multiple departments under the special directive of Superintendent Lim Tae-hee," and added, "We will continuously strive to implement the various tasks included in the comprehensive plan to achieve a tangible reduction in school workload."
