Subsidiary Employees Voluntarily Unite to Make Proposals
LG Electronics subsidiaries have joined forces to support vulnerable neighbors.
On the 23rd, LG Electronics announced that about 70 employees from four customer service subsidiaries?Hi Plaza (sales service), Hi Tele Service (phone consultation service), Hi M Solutec (system air conditioner maintenance and repair service), and Hi Care Solution (subscription and maintenance service)?participated in a joint volunteer activity alongside officials from Gangseo District Office and local organizations.
Employees of LG Electronics' subsidiary personally visited a total of 300 households, including basic livelihood recipients aged 65 and older under the jurisdiction of Gangseo Senior Welfare Center and Deungchon 1·4 Comprehensive Welfare Center, as well as severely disabled individuals, to deliver kimchi.
The employees visited Gangseo Senior Welfare Center and Deungchon 1 and 4 Comprehensive Welfare Centers in Seoul’s Gangseo District to assist with free meal services such as serving food, washing dishes, and delivering lunch boxes. After the volunteer work, they donated 3,000 kg of kimchi and personally delivered it to 300 households, including basic livelihood recipients aged 65 and older and people with severe disabilities.
This was the first joint volunteer activity by LG Electronics subsidiaries. To carry out the volunteer work more efficiently, employees voluntarily came together, and the “Junior Board,” a channel for conveying employees’ opinions to management, proposed the joint volunteer activity to each company.
As members of the local community, LG Electronics subsidiaries have been conducting various ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) activities utilizing employees’ work skills and talents to support socially vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, and youth.
Hi Plaza is known for educational activities on home appliances, such as senior IT classes and children’s home appliance safety classes, as well as free family photo shoots for low-income household youth. Hi Tele Service consultation consultants have been operating the “Love Connection Volunteer Group” since this year, a phone volunteer service that emotionally supports elderly people living alone and checks on their health and safety. Recently, Hi M Solutec service engineers made safety umbrellas themselves and donated them to local children’s centers to prevent safety accidents for children on rainy days.
Meanwhile, employees from LG Electronics Korea Sales Headquarters’ regional offices in Daejeon, Daegu, Gwangju, and Busan also collected personal items and donated them to “Areumdawoon Gage” (Beautiful Store). From the 8th to the 20th, employees gathered and donated over 300 items, including books, fashion accessories, and digital devices.
