As bedbugs have been repeatedly found across the country, bedbugs have been discovered for the first time in Jindo-gun as well.

As a result of the health center's on-site dispatch, six additional bedbug carcasses were found in the mattress, and the request to the Disease Control Agency's vector analysis department confirmed them as bedbugs.

After the on-site inspection, bedbugs were also found in the lodging of foreign workers who work with the reporter's cohabitant.

Considering that the bedbugs were found in the lodging of foreign workers, the county health center judged that there might still be bedbug eggs and conducted disinfection starting from the afternoon of the 22nd through a private professional pest control company in the area.

Additionally, the county plans to conduct a thorough investigation of foreign worker lodgings in the area to prevent further spread of bedbugs and will make every effort to contain them.

Meanwhile, the county health center purchased additional neonicotinoid insecticides that were urgently approved, following research results showing that the pyrethroid insecticides they possessed had reduced effectiveness due to resistance.
