The exhibition is divided into three parts. ▲Part 1, 'From Natural Disaster to Genocide,' explores through photographs the devastation caused by the magnitude 7.9 earthquake centered in the Kanto region including Tokyo on September 1, 1923, and the systematic massacre of Koreans carried out during the recovery process.
▲Part 2, 'Burials Beyond Count,' features 35 Korean victim memorial monuments photographed by Cheon Seung-hwan in Japan since 2017, organized by theme.
▲Part 3, 'Experience Zone,' allows visitors to reflect on the exhibition content through books and thematic cards related to the Kanto Earthquake Korean Massacre.
A museum official stated, "We hope this serves as an opportunity to revisit and reflect on the Kanto Earthquake Korean Massacre that occurred 100 years ago," adding, "The Gunsan History Museum during the Japanese colonial period will continue to hold exhibitions showcasing the history of exploitation and resistance during the colonial era."
