KOSPI, Institutional and Foreign Investors 'Buy'... Intra-day Strength Widens On the 21st, the KOSPI index opened at 2,504.70, up 13.50 points (0.54%) from the previous trading day, as dealers were working in the dealing room at the Hana Bank headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul. The KOSPI index is expanding its intraday gains amid net purchases by institutions and foreigners.


As of 10:02 AM on the 21st, the KOSPI index is trading at 2,509.06, up 17.86 points (0.72%) from the previous day.


By investor type, institutions and foreigners are net buyers of 15.7 billion KRW and 35 billion KRW respectively, driving the upward trend, while individuals are net sellers of 39.2 billion KRW. In the futures market, institutions are net sellers of 30.4 billion KRW, whereas foreigners and individuals are net buyers of 8.6 billion KRW and 31.5 billion KRW respectively.


Most sectors are showing strength. The service sector is up 1.49%, medical precision 1.02%, textiles and apparel 0.95%, construction 0.97%, finance 1.02%, electrical and electronics 0.81%, and securities 0.67%. On the other hand, telecommunications is down 1.01%, non-metallic minerals 0.04%, and insurance 0.08% are also weak.


Most of the top market capitalization stocks are also showing strength. Samsung Electronics rose 0.55%, LG Energy Solution 0.9%, SK Hynix 0.99%, Samsung Biologics 0.28%, POSCO Holdings 0.21%, and Hyundai Motor 0.33%. Meanwhile, Kia is down 0.59%.


At the same time, the KOSDAQ index is also maintaining its strength. The KOSDAQ index is trading at 815.36, up 2.28 points (0.28%) from the previous day. By investor type, institutions and foreigners are net sellers of 76.2 billion KRW and 67.2 billion KRW respectively, while individuals are net buyers of 148.2 billion KRW, supporting the index.


Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM and EcoPro are down 2.39% and 1.65% respectively, POSCO DX -1.42%, L&F -0.4%, and HLB -0.8% are weak. On the other hand, Celltrion Healthcare is up 0.27%, Alteogen 3.09%, Celltrion Pharm 2.24%, and JYP Ent. 3.14% are rising.


Meanwhile, in the Seoul foreign exchange market, the won/dollar exchange rate is trading at 1,285.2 won, down 6.4 won from the previous day.
