Gangnam-gu Smart City Partner Companies Target Overseas Markets at World's Largest Smart City Exhibition
Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) participated in the '2023 Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC)' held in Barcelona, Spain from the 7th to the 9th, achieving export consultation results worth 10 million USD (approximately 13 billion KRW).
At the world's largest smart city exhibition, which hosted over 20,000 participants from 800 cities across 140 countries, the district operated the Gangnam Pavilion together with five companies involved in smart city projects. ▲Ninewatt ▲NextCore Technology ▲Removing Company ▲GSIL ▲JCF Technology each promoted outstanding digital technologies such as the construction of a 3D carbon map of the entire Gangnam district, flood prevention solutions for semi-basement houses, customized exercise services for seniors, major accident prevention using a safety management app, and solutions to prevent solitary deaths in single-person households through biometric signal detection sensors. As a result, they secured 172 export consultations worth 10 million USD with companies and institutions from Spain, France, Finland, Saudi Arabia, India, and others, pioneering overseas markets.
Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, “I hope the achievements of companies at this Barcelona Smart City Expo will serve as a foothold for targeting the global market,” adding, “We will continue to actively utilize companies’ digital technologies to create a sustainable smart city.”
