Nowon District Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends 2023 Volunteer Day Commemoration Event

On the 20th at 1:30 PM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the ‘2023 Volunteer Day Commemoration - Nowon-gu Volunteer Merit Award Ceremony’ held in the main auditorium on the 2nd floor of Nowon-gu Office.

The district organized this event to commemorate “2023 Volunteer Day,” encouraging individual volunteers and groups who practiced love and sharing for the local community and neighbors in need throughout the year, and to foster a culture of sharing.

The event was held with about 300 volunteers in attendance and proceeded in the order of congratulatory performances, opening declaration, national anthem, introduction of guests, encouragement speeches, congratulatory speeches, award presentations, and commemorative photos.

The awards were given to express gratitude for the hard work of volunteers who have contributed to the community and neighbors, and to encourage future activities. Awards were presented to 84 individuals in 2 categories, 15 groups in 4 categories, and one corporate volunteer team received a plaque of appreciation.

Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “I sincerely thank the volunteers who practice sharing invisibly for the community and neighbors, as well as the companies and organizations that generously donate talents and sponsorships. In this aging society, the role of volunteers is very important, and I ask for your continued active participation.”
