Yeonggwang-gun requested Gwangju City's cooperation on regional win-win projects including ▲building a carbon-neutral RE100 joint alliance ▲operating the "2024 Yeonggwang Visit Year" ▲holding the Yeonggwang Bulgapsan Sangsa Flower Festival ▲reflecting the extension of the Dalbit Inland Railway (Gwangju?Yeonggwang) in the national plan.
Gwangju City showed high interest and expectations in Yeonggwang-gun's ▲dried yellow corvina industry ▲marine and fisheries industry (freshwater eel) ▲rice cake industry ▲tourism and cultural industries (Mulmusan Hwangtotgil Trail and the Four Major Religious Cultural Pilgrimage Sites).
Mayor Kang said, "We will spare no effort to cooperate in developing tourism product programs linked with Gwangju," and added, "We will also strive to have the extension of the Dalbit Inland Railway and the construction of the West Coast Railway reflected in the national plan."
Governor Kang said, "This meeting has opened the door to communication for win-win cooperation between local governments," and added, "It would be good to establish a super-regional cooperation system by providing Gwangju with Yeonggwang's excellent tourism resources and abundant agricultural and marine products, and strengthening links with Gwangju's materials, parts, and equipment industries."
