Yeongam-gun Provides Settlement Support Funds for Foreign Residents with Regional Special Visa

Initial 600,000 KRW Payment to 120 People Including International Students and Foreign Nationals

Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Woo Seung-hee) is providing an initial settlement support fund of 600,000 KRW for three months to foreign residents, including local talents and overseas Koreans, through the 'Regional Specialized Visa Pilot Project.'


According to the county on the 20th, the Regional Specialized Visa Pilot Project, led by the Ministry of Justice, grants special visa privileges to foreigners who meet the qualification requirements requested by local governments, on the condition that they reside and work in the designated area for a certain period. This policy aims to encourage settlement in the local community and promote regional economic activities.

In particular, the foreign resident settlement support fund aims to attract and settle foreigners needed for region-specific industries, universities, and jobs.


Yeongam-gun is guiding 120 individuals who have received the local talent 'F-2-R' and overseas Korean 'F-4-R' visas to apply for the settlement support fund.


Eligible applicants can visit the Foreign Resident Support Center and submit their application forms by the 25th. After verifying the applications, the support fund will be distributed in the form of local love gift certificates from the 27th of this month to the 8th of next month, which can be used at Yeongam-gun affiliated stores.


A county official stated, "We will continue to attract and support the settlement of excellent foreign talents through the Regional Specialized Visa Pilot Project, which has brought achievements such as expanding the living population and alleviating manpower shortages in the shipbuilding industry."
