GS Retail's supermarket GS The Fresh announced on the 20th that it will actively expand its ultra-low-price win-win PB Real Price products.
Real Price is an ultra-low-price private brand that GS The Fresh has been developing since 2017 in collaboration with excellent small and medium-sized enterprises, displaying the manufacturers' names prominently on the front of the products as a win-win brand.
GS The Fresh actively discovers small and medium-sized companies with excellent product quality but facing difficulties in market development, selling their products at prices 20% to 30% lower than regular products, achieving cumulative sales of approximately 200 billion KRW, and practicing ESG win-win management.
Real Price started in 2017 with 35 products from 21 companies at launch, expanded to 195 products from 128 companies by the end of last year, and as of the end of October this year, it has grown to 240 products from 152 companies. Sales until the end of October this year increased by 38.8% compared to the same period last year. Inquiries from manufacturers regarding Real Price product listings are also surging.
This year, due to high inflation, Real Price products have ranked first in their respective categories. 1974 Milk 900mL is ranked first among 93 white milk products, Real Fresh Soybean Sprouts is first among 26 soybean sprout products, and Real Bacon 160g is first among 45 ham products.
GS Retail plans to expand Real Price products to all categories of GS The Fresh, discover high-quality imported products, operate more than 500 products, and contribute to price stabilization platforms and the enhancement of national consumer welfare.
Kwack Yong-gu, Head of the Super MD Division at GS Retail, said, “GS The Fresh’s Real Price is receiving great love from consumers, especially for products closely related to grocery shopping such as milk and soybean sprouts, contributing to price stabilization. GS Retail aims to expand Real Price products into more diverse areas to serve as a price stabilization platform.”
