Hanwha Solutions has strengthened its export competitiveness by obtaining the international eco-friendly certification 'ISCC PLUS' for its basic material product lineup. The company aims to accelerate securing eco-friendly certifications for its main products in response to low-carbon policies in major countries such as the United States and the European Union (EU).

Hanwha Solutions announced on the 20th that eight of its products have obtained the international eco-friendly certification ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) PLUS. The Hanwha Solutions products certified this time include caustic soda product groups used for impurity removal in various industries ▲Caustic Soda (NaOH) ▲Chlorine (Cl2), PO product groups used as basic materials for packaging, adhesives, and cables ▲LDPE ▲LLDPE ▲HDPE ▲Wire compound ▲Hydrogenated petroleum resin, and ▲TDI, a raw material for mattress foam. With the renewal of certifications for ▲EVA and ▲PVC, which were certified last year, Hanwha Solutions now holds ISCC PLUS certification for a total of 10 products.

ISCC PLUS is an international certification system granted to sustainable and low-carbon products under the European Union's Renewable Energy Directive. It is regarded as the most credible eco-friendly certification worldwide due to its transparent and rigorous evaluation criteria, and over 130 global oil and chemical companies utilize ISCC certification throughout the process from production to sales.

Hanwha Solutions' products have been recognized for their eco-friendliness in low-carbon production processes that incorporate raw materials derived from biomass based on corn and sugarcane, as well as bio-waste such as waste oil. Additionally, caustic soda, which has recently gained attention as a material for secondary battery cathodes, increased the proportion of renewable energy in the electricity used for production and became the first in Asia to obtain ISCC PLUS certification in the renewable energy utilization field (Renewable).

Hanwha Solutions explained, "Obtaining ISCC PLUS certification means that the eco-friendly competitiveness of the final products produced using these materials is enhanced," adding, "We will meet the demand for low-carbon raw materials within the supply chains of overseas customers and secure export competitiveness."
