Assemblyman Min Hyung-bae: "I Will Fight Against Prosecutorial Power Together with Gwangju Citizens"

Book Launch Event for 'Taldang-ui Jeongchi' Successfully Held

Min Hyung-bae, Member of the National Assembly (The Democratic Party of Korea·Gwangsan-gu Eul, Gwangju), held a successful book launch event for his publication "The Politics of Leaving the Party - Attack Is the Best Defense" on the 19th at the Oryong Hall of Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, attended by over 3,000 citizens.


The event was attended by various figures including Kang Ki-jung, Mayor of Gwangju, Jeong Mu-chang, Chairperson of the Gwangju City Council, as well as National Assembly members Kang Min-jung, Song Gap-seok, Yang Jeong-suk, Yoon Young-duk, Lee Yong-bin, Jo Oh-seop, and Park Byung-gyu, Head of Gwangsan District Office.

In particular, Lee Jae-myung, party leader of The Democratic Party of Korea, Hong Ik-pyo, floor leader, former Minister Cho Kuk, and members Park Joo-min, Yong Hye-in, Lee Tan-hee, Jin Sung-jun, and Han Jun-ho congratulated via video and congratulatory messages.


Party leader Lee Jae-myung expressed in his congratulatory message, “Assemblyman Min Hyung-bae is dedicated to legislative activities aimed at normalizing the prosecution and protecting democracy,” and added, “The newly published book ‘The Politics of Leaving the Party’ contains his reflections on correcting the overgrown prosecutorial power and his resolute will to protect citizens’ freedom.”


Former Minister Cho Kuk said, “Assemblyman Min Hyung-bae steadfastly fought against prosecutorial dictatorship in the National Assembly, and despite criticism both inside and outside, he did not abandon his convictions,” and congratulated, “‘The Politics of Leaving the Party’ well documents Min’s anguish and struggle, and I hope that the citizens of Gwangju will share his concerns, awareness of issues, and vision through this book launch event.”


The talk concert, moderated by Professor Park Gu-yong (Department of Philosophy, Chonnam National University), featured Min Hyung-bae, Assemblyman Kim Yong-min, and former Assemblyman Choi Kang-wook, who critically diagnosed the process at the time of leaving the party and the current reality of the “prosecutorial dictatorship.” They also proposed broad measures to protect the livelihood of the people.


Assemblyman Min stated, “Normalizing the prosecution is closely related not only to democracy in our country but also to the daily lives of people,” and declared, “Together with the great citizens of Gwangju, I will fight to the end against unjust prosecutorial power and win.”
